FluidCrystal® NP Transdermal nanoparticles

Camurus' FluidCrystal® NP transdermal delivery system improves the bioavailability of small molecule drugs and peptides by facilitating high drug payload and efficient transport across the skin. The formulation is available as a dispersion of nanoparticles in a liquid or cream dosage form that has excellent cosmetic properties.

High drug payloads without the use of organic solvents
In contrast to many marketed transdermal products, FluidCrystal® NP formulation contains no or only trace amounts of small molecule organic solvents. The high transdermal transport capacity of the nanoparticle delivery system is a result of the unique properties and structure of the liquid crystal carrier particles. Together with their high solubilizing capacity, the dispersions are physically stable at very high particle concentrations, which allow for high drug payloads and an effective concentration gradient over the skin.

The key excipients derive from long chain fatty acid esters with very favourable safety and local tolerance profiles. The formulation
is compatible with standard pharmaceutical administration devices such as metered multi-dose applicators, mono-dose containers, spray bottles, etc.
